I have always been interested in the Paranormal, reading any books I can get my hands on regarding hauntings or looking online for photographic paranormal evidence, E.V.P, or whatever else I can find!

On a recent family visit to Grand Haven, Michigan, where I grew up and lived for 28 years of my life, I got my hands on a book called 'Weird Michigan' that my mother had picked up. I was intrigued by the short story about the 'Stairway to Hell' in Lake Forest Cemetery. I had also looked up other Grand Haven haunts online, and found the story of the 'Blue Man' atop Ferry Hill.

Of course, I found both stories fascinating and decided to check it out for myself. I trekked into the cemetery on a chilly afternoon and was able to locate the staircase quickly as I had seen a picture of it in the book. The winter chill in the air made it impossible to detect any temperature changes or other disturbances that are said to occur on the stairway and I didn't really feel anything either on the stairway itself or at the top on Ferry Hill. Everything seemed very peaceful and quiet. However, when I walked over to the civil war burial section across from the stairway, an uneasy, creepy feeling came over me. My camera wouldn't turn on again, and when I did finally get it to turn on, when I was photographing this particular area, my camera refused to come into focus at times.

I decided to return to the cemetery that night. I still didn't find much on the stairway itself, but I heard what sounded like footsteps coming up to me on my right after I passed through the gate onto Ferry Hill and after I snapped a few shots of Ferry Hill in the dark, my camera refused to work until I went back down the hill.

I went back down the stairs, and snapped a few shots of the cemetery across from the stairway, and then walked over to the Civil War Burial section to snap a few shots there. I still felt uneasy about that particular area, but nothing unusual happened with my camera this time.
