I stopped by Nunica Cemetery today for the first time. I have driven by a million times and use to live right down the road but never stopped until today. I have been in a lot of cemeteries and none of them have had the feeling that this one does. I drove in and the very first tombstone name I saw was Bond. Not knowing anything about the cemetery, I learned who Mr. Joel Bond was when I got home. In some spots, I could feel nothing but anger, especially by the front of the shed. I went to the back of the cemetery and got out of my car. I was being watched the whole time. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to see who wanted to talk. I said, “I am listening. What do you want to say?” I heard back, “LEAVE!” I laughed and said back, “That’s not gonna happen.” Then in that deep voice again, I heard, “Come back after dark,” and I just said, “Ok.”
As I got back into my car and started down the dirt road again, I looked over and saw one of my beloved Hospice patients. I slammed on my brakes and had the most urgent feeling to run to him. I had him in my life for over a year. I laid at his grave and cried like a baby. Then I felt like he was telling me they needed some help in there. I watched over him and made sure he was safe and happy before I would leave him. Now he needs my help again. I have NO idea what they will say, but I know I have to go back. Cemeteries are full of invisible people who have a story to tell. The question is will you listen to them and respect them? If you say “No,” then you will get their wrath. – Tammy
Hi again…I went back last night and brought an Angel with me that I blessed and talked to the spirits at Nunica. I apologized for people being stupid and destroying their property. As I spoke, I couldn’t hold back my emotion. I started to ball my eyes out. I left the Angel with my Hospice Angel. As I was driving out it was the most peaceful I had felt there. As I talked, the wind picked up and you couldn’t hear the highway anymore. (I would hate the highway too!) I have been in a lot of cemeteries but none like this one. I am going back to pick up sticks and see who wants to talk. I will keep you posted and you are more than welcome to share my story. I just want to help in any way I can. – Tammy
**All cemeteries should be entered with respect. Leave them like you found them. Don’t litter, don’t vandalize anything or so help me, 10,000 demons will strike you down. If the cemetery has hours posted, respect that or find out how to get permission to be in after hours. Many times a simple phone call to the right person will grant access into a cemetery after it’s closed. If you can’t get access, enjoy the cemetery during open hours. I am a firm believer that spirits don’t just come out at night. I think it’s just “ghost hunters” who only come out at night. Respect nearby private property and don’t trespass where you do not belong.
My friend and I recently went to the Nunica Cemetery at around 10:00 PM. I am very skeptical about ghosts/spirts but after this experience, I have a little hope. Most of the time, I would say this was just a coincidence and it really can be explained but here’s my story. We had been driving around a lot this day and the entire time, my friends car lights were fine. Before we went to the cemetery, they were on. They were perfectly fine. Right when we entered the cemetery, her car lights stopped working. We parked about 10 feet from the entrance and she had me stand outside of her car to see if the lights would work, but all they did was flicker a very faint ugly yellow color and then completely stopped working. Her blinkers somehow worked throughout all of this though. Then, we walked around for a bit and decided to go back to the car. Nothing else happened while were we actually at the cemetery, but when we got back in the car, the lights still weren’t working. I started to joke about how once we got home, her lights would start to work. And to everyone’s surprise… they did. We pulled into her driveway, got out of the car and my friend says, “look.” As I looked, I saw the bright blue light of her front car lights. They were perfectly fine. Later that night, we noticed her side garage door was open with the inside light on. We grabbed some scissors in case it was an intruder, but when we went to check it out, nobody was around. Then a little later, the outside light on her garage was flickering when it had no problems before. Weird pattern with lights, right? I’m still skeptical, but this was the closest thing to an experienced I’ve ever had.
My friends and I a long time ago had the same experience without the niceties, because we were young and dumb. Me being a witch iI should have known better! But we asked similar questions with our cell phone recording and heard “Get Out” so we left of course. I have been there several times with different people and by myself and this cemetary never lets you down, it is def full of paranormal energy. Also there is some dark energy in the woods there that people might not want to mess with. I dont scare easily at all and I had to leave I felt it draining my energy. I am going back actually this week because Straight Nick and Gay Miah Explore will be filming their first show!
Thanks for sharing your experiences with the page! 🙂

Been to nunica plenty of times between midnight and 3:30am, a variety of incidets have happened. Even talked to several police officers about catching people, the police are sceptical about it being haunted. Although they won’t go in at night if they don’t have a partner, they’ll only flash their spotlight in from the entrance. Anyway I’ll get to the good part, two friends of mine and I were in the woods in the back right side of the cemetery. We found a small area 4ft area we could sit down and use a recorder and ask questions. On our way there one of my friends kept snagging his pants on the branches, we thought this was odd cause we were all wearing pants and his were a tighter fit than ours. This led to us asking was it them who was pulling his pants, we asked questions for about and hour and after we decided we had enough to go through for the night, we decided to leave. Once we got in the car we waited for a while in the car as I hooked the recorder up to the car stereo so we could hear better. After a while we got to the question about my buddies pants, we heard a faint woman’s voice say, “can’t you see I’m only messing with you, sorry”. We played it back several times, we knew it wasn’t any of us trying to quietly mess with the others because we were all guys. After this we realized it was getting very late and we had work and class in the morning. The recording has since disappeared and even though it was backed up onto several devices each of us owned, even and email backup. We’ve tried to get another similar incident to happen but nothing since them has happened in that area.
Thanks for sharing that!
The gal in the front there, my 2nd great grandmother.
And the row on down plus many more there of my blood line.
I am pretty sure they can handle their own too.
And they had some major heart breaks thru out that generation.
Each to there own of how their energy’s are observed, no human has claims .
May I start by saying that the Nunica Cemetery is a very peaceful, kind cemetery…to the right people. Anybody looking for spirits, ghosts, demonic activity and so on will not be welcomed with open arms. My two eldest sons and I,since birth, have been able to see and speak to the dead. We also have a few relatives buried there from my mothers side. Mainly just the women, until my boys were born, have had this gift. Rollenhagen is the name of our shirt tail relatives. A few years back,my sons and I went to pay our respects. When we got there, the place felt…well, empty. Even in the smallest and oldest cemeteries, we’ve always been able to connect with a spirit or a guardian. This particular day, there was zip! Nothing! It was eerily empty! The further we walked,my son, then 15-16 years old, made contact with a guardian. All the spirits and guardians had been pushed out of the cemetery by a local church group thinking they were doing good.
Unfortunately, they kicked all the inhabitants and guardians around the outer edge of the cemetery, where the woods are. The only two beings inside that cemetery was a very stubborn, yet proper elderly woman, sitting on top her own gravestone and a demon that “monitored” the front entrance of the cemetery. Unbeknownst to the church group, they kicked out the good and let in the bad. They did it unintentionally and were only trying to help but they just didn’t know what they were doing. After three hours of talking to the spunky senior and the guardian, we proceeded to kick out the demon, who may I add, gave us quite a fight, and let first and foremost the guardians in first. We helped them clear the area, cleanse it and started helping the rightful residents back in to their final resting place and even helped quite a few cross over. We’ve been there about two more times since that day. We haven’t been there yet this year. Sounds like we need to go back for an annual check up. Please everyone, be respectful and do not purposely go in there with the intent to “ghost hunt”. This is not the cemetery to do it in…it may be small and in the country, but it is definitely not weak. Tread with extreme caution and respect. Most of them DO NOT enjoy the nosiness of strangers.
